Is this the point?

The current president, whose name I will not utter,is today defending his friendly handshake and greeting with Hugo Chavez, one of the harshest critics of the U.S.  Newt Gringrich has lambasted the president for being overly friendly with our enemies.

The current president said this in reply:  “It’s unlikely that as a consequence of me shaking hands or having a polite conversation with Mr. Chavez that we are endangering the strategic interests of the United States,” Obama told reporters at a news conference. “I don’t think anybody can find any evidence that that would do so. Even within this imaginative crowd,I think you would be hard-pressed to paint a scenario in which U.S. interests would be damaged as a consequence of us having a more constructive relationship with Venezuela.”

Never mind that his English is poor, and that the phrase should be “my shaking hands”…….

I wonder, sir,is this the point?  Is the point that your actions  merely cause no damage to our relationships with our enemies?  Is that all that you do?

Or should you not be a staunch and loud advocate of the people of this country in all of your actions?  Should we not expect you to act as we would have acted?  Are you not truly the representative of the people?   Or do you just gad about trying to not do any damage?

Even if that’s your mission,it appears you’ve failed even that.

But I’d surely like to see a leader that represents the way I think, for once.
