Chuck, as I read this, I pictured your sweet mother and loving dad and was surprised that it ended 'author unknown'. Your parents had a most positive influence on my life and I enjoyed reflecting back on them both.

If it's not the media, it's the government! Global Warming; Bird Flu; Swine Flu; Asian Flu, to name a few. How about Y2k? A child of God, in these days, needs the promises of God's Word--"He is my refuge and my strength, my very present help in time of trouble. Therefore, I will not fear. Though the earth be removed and the mountains be carried into the midst of the sea." "Himself bore our sins in his own body upon the tree so that we being dead to sins might live unto rightousness; by whose stripes we were healed."
God never intended for His kids to live on this earth in panic or fear!
May all that read these words gain strength and confidence in our loving Father.

Before I was drafted into the Army I received a flu shot which gave me the worse case of it ever. In boot camp they decided that we all were to get a flu shot. I told them that I would not take it because it would give me the flu. I was jeered, mocked, and called chicken and yellow. Then I was sentenced to 2 weekends of KP duty for reprisal. Small wonder that I have no use for the govt. calling the shots on such a thing. Since the 9-11 building implosions I no longer trust our government..sad to say. It is possible to love the country while totally distrusting the parties currently in charge. I do indeed wish it were otherwise.

Ginger enabled you to momentarily take your interest outside yourself from time to time and therefore served you well. I think that she would want you to continue this practice and replace her presence with yet another to love. My condolences to you both. My little beagle/terrier named Mossy2 I regard as my best friend. He is the one entity living that loves me totally unconditionally. He delights at my return home anytime I have gone on an errand.

Chuck - I am so sorry to hear about your precious baby, Ginger. What a doll. I know it's like losing a member of your family; been there, done that. I believe we will get our pets back in the new earth. I'm looking forward to seeing my little friends again and I know Ginger will be waiting for you. Big hug to you & Carol. sb

Whoa guys, don't be too soon to completely write off the American electorate. It is natural for a new president to have a "honeymoon" period in which people of both parties want to give him the benefit of the doubt. However the Pew poll indicates there is the biggest approval gap between a president and the opposing party in modern history. http://pewresearch.org/pubs/1178/polarized-partisan-gap-in-obama-approval-historic
Of course you are not going to see this info on the evening news from the mainstream media, but recently MSNBC had a non-scientific approval poll by internet. This was a survey of over 109,000 individuals and Obama was given an "F" rating on his first months in office by 60% of the respondents.
http://www.worldnetdaily.com/index.php?pageId=91346
The modern American electorate is a bunch of really dumb bunnies, but there is time to go yet. There is still hope that these folks will wise up when they see the full extent of what this idiot does.

I appreciate the reply.

Actually, the logical conclusion of the point I made is that the result of your contention would be even more left leaning results. In other words, if every single American were required by law to vote, we'd be heavily left leaning, way more so than now.

We are truly in the minority. We delude ourselves to think otherwise.

The reasons WHY this is true are interesting and worthy of study. But the fact that they are true are pretty much indisputable. I would counsel those of us who think otherwise to heed a similar admonition to what the Lord told the Apostle Paul when he was still named Saul and fighting Christianity "Paul, it is hard for thee to kick against the pricks".......

The last election showed me that all of the states bordering the ocean on the east and west think alike, and those that live there regard the balance of the USA as simply mindless fly over territory. I am most irked off by the millions of persons who don't vote at all which serves to empower the left wing loons. I, too, don't much expect the nation to truly return even to the center very soon.
